Zalmay Khalilzad Meets Ata M. Noor
The US’s Special Envoy on Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad met with Ata M. Noor Sunday, while the US ambassador John R. Bass and the NATO General Commander Scott Miller are in Afghanistan.
The US’s Special Envoy on Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad met with Ata M. Noor Sunday, while the US ambassador John R. Bass and the NATO General Commander Scott Miller are in Afghanistan.
After visiting president Ashraf Ghani and Ismael Khan, a Jihadi leader, Khalilzad met with Ata M. Noor, a member of the Grand National Coalition.
During the meeting, Zalmay Khalilzad said that all sides want peace and called for the unity of all political sides to achieve this issue.
In addition, Khalilzad said that peace is expected to be established in Afghanistan soon, and a national powerful team, acceptable to all parties, should be formed to work on the peace process.
For his side, Ata M. Noor said that all people want peace and stressed that he will do everything possible in this regard.
Mr Noor called on all sides involved in Afghanistan war to show flexibility to achieve peace.
Security in northern parts of the country was among other issues discussed during the meeting.
