11 Saudi Princes arrested/Detentions Ongoing
11 Saudi princes were arrested for protesting at a royal palace in the capital Riyadh, according to local media.
Saudi Arabia’s Attorney General has confirmed the arrest of 11 princes after protesting at the Qasr al-Hokm to demand reversing a royal decree suspending payments for their water and electricity bills, according to Sabq news website.
The statement said that the princes were transferred to Ha’ir prison pending further investigations and awaiting their trial.
In November, Saudi authorities arrested dozens of royal family members, current and former senior officials in a massive anti-corruption sweep in the country.
