DIDPress: A senior and wanted leader of the ISIS terrorist group Özgür Altun detained near Afghanistan-Pakistan border in a rare joint operation by Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Turkish media reported that Altun, who was listed under Turkey’s “Orange” alert category, was suspected of leading active ISIS branches in the region and had remained hidden from security agencies for years.
The operation, which is said to be the result of months of precise intelligence work and high-level coordination between the two countries, is considered a significant success for international efforts to curb extremist group activities in the region.
Turkish authorities have announced that Altun will be transferred to Turkey following his arrest to begin legal and judicial proceedings.
Security sources also said that this operation could mark the beginning of further coordinated efforts to suppress terrorist networks along the volatile Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
