Drone Production Underway at Former US, UK Bases in Afghanistan
DIDPress: Taliban caretaker government are using former U.S. and British military bases in Afghanistan to produce and test advanced suicide drones capable of carrying out attacks beyond the country’s borders.

According to reports, the Taliban caretaker government have repurposed former special forces bases once used by the US and the UK to develop and manufacture sophisticated suicide drones. The former British SAS base in Logar province has become a central site for drone testing.
Multiple test flights have been conducted at the site, and some of the drones have reportedly been used in cross-border attacks on Pakistan, intelligence sources told Daily Mail.
Final assembly and construction of the drones are taking place at Camp Phoenix, located near Kabul—a base that previously served as a training and logistics hub for the Afghan National Army before the withdrawal of Western forces. It has now reportedly been converted into a covert Taliban drone production facility.
The Taliban, with the assistance of international engineers from countries including China, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, and Bangladesh—as well as individuals linked to al-Qaeda—have produced hundreds of advanced drones. The models closely resemble the American MQ-9 Reaper and the Iranian Shahed-136, both known for their long-range kamikaze capabilities.
According to Daily Mail, these developments have sparked serious security concerns across the region and among Western intelligence agencies.
