UN: Gaza Has Turned into “Living Hell”

DIDPress: As Israel’s military attacks intensify and the blockade on the Gaza Strip continues, UN agencies warned that the territory has become a “living hell,” with humanitarian conditions deteriorating daily.

Reports indicate that over the past few days, more than 100 Palestinians have been killed and around 300 others wounded in airstrikes and ground assaults.

Starvation and the collapse of healthcare services are putting the lives of Gaza’s defenseless children at grave risk, warned UN.

UNICEF said that at least 71,000 children in Gaza are facing life-threatening hunger, and the continuation of these conditions will lead to an even greater humanitarian catastrophe.

UN agencies have also expressed concerns over the U.S. and Israeli-proposed aid distribution plan, calling it insufficient and counterproductive.

The World Food Programme (WFP) and UNRWA have urgently called for a ceasefire, warning that the closure of crossings and ongoing bombings are only worsening the crisis.

Meanwhile, Palestinian sources reported that five civilians were killed in Israeli attacks in southern Gaza, and refugee tents in Khan Younis were targeted in bombardments.

Arab organizations have criticized the inadequate response and insufficient aid from Arab nations, stressing that many opportunities to support Palestinians have already been lost.
