Muttaqi’s Visit to Pakistan Delayed Due to Lack of UN Travel Exemption

DID Press: The three-days visit of the acting government’s foreign minister to Pakistan has been postponed due to the United Nations not issuing a travel exemption in time.

According to Western media reports, the official visit of Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s acting foreign minister, to Pakistan—which was scheduled to last three days—has been delayed due to administrative complications in the issuance of the required UN travel exemption.

A well-informed diplomat told Haam media that the travel exemption request should have been submitted to the relevant UN bodies earlier, and that the delay was likely due to the Pakistani side’s failure to act in a timely manner.

Meanwhile, officials from the Taliban’s acting government in Kabul stated that there were no problems on their end, and that the delegation led by Muttaqi had been fully prepared for the visit to Pakistan.

This development reflects the ongoing tensions and challenges in diplomatic relations between the Taliban administration and neighboring countries
