Taliban Ban Shaving Beards in Helmand

DID Press: Local authorities of Afghanistan’s Taliban administration in Helmand province have warned residents that shaving beards is strictly prohibited and violators will face punishment.

According to local sources in Helmand, Taliban officials in Lashkargah, the provincial capital, as well as in all districts of the province, have ordered men to grow beards and refrain from shaving them.

The sources added that residents have been given a two-month deadline to comply. Those who fail to grow their beards or continue shaving will face penalties.

This move comes as the Taliban administration has previously imposed similar restrictions across Afghanistan concerning clothing, personal appearance, and lifestyle choices.
