Trump Slams UN after Series of Suspicious Incidents

DID Press: US President Donald Trump sharply attacked the United Nations following three unexpected and suspicious incidents at the organization’s headquarter, calling on the Secretary-General to open an immediate investigation.

In a post on his social media account on Tuesday, Trump said that during his appearance at the UN three separate incidents occurred in succession. First, the main hall’s escalator suddenly stopped working. Second, in the middle of his speech, the teleprompter went completely dark, forcing him to continue without his prepared remarks for about 15 minutes until the issue was resolved.

The third incident, according to Trump, came to his attention after the speech had concluded: his voice was reportedly not broadcast in the hall, meaning world leaders present were unable to hear his address. Describing the events as “highly suspicious,” Trump stressed: “I have asked the Secretary-General to investigate immediately and to fully review the security footage of the escalator. The Secret Service is also conducting an inquiry.”

The remarks came amid Trump’s long-standing friction with the UN, an institution he has repeatedly accused of inefficiency and favoritism toward certain powers. The latest incidents can further escalate tensions between Washington and the UN.
