DID Press: Despite ceasefire remaining officially in effect, Israeli forces on Friday evening targeted a vehicle carrying displaced Palestinians in al-Zaytoun neighborhood of eastern Gaza City, killing 11 members of Abu Shaaban family, including seven children and three women, according to local reports. The attack has drawn strong condemnation from Hamas.

Gaza Civil Defense organization said in a statement that the family had been returning home after days of displacement when their vehicle was struck. Witnesses described a powerful explosion that completely destroyed the car and disintegrated the victims’ bodies.
In response, Hamas movement in a statement condemned the attack, saying: “By bombing the home of Abu Shaaban family, the Israeli army has once again revealed its true face as a criminal regime that murders children and civilians.”
Hamas described the strike as a “clear violation of the ceasefire agreement” and part of Israel’s “systematic policy of targeting Palestinian civilians.”
The group called on U.S. President Donald Trump and other international mediators to compel Israel to uphold the terms of the truce and prevent further attacks against civilians.
The incident occurred as the ceasefire—part of the initial phase of Trump’s 20-point peace plan aimed at ending the Gaza conflict—remains fragile amid repeated violations by Israel, raising doubts over Tel Aviv’s commitment to any political settlement.
