Signing of $100M Pharmaceutical Agreement Between Afghan, Indian Companies in Dubai

DID Press: A major $100 million pharmaceutical memorandum of understanding was signed between Afghanistan’s Rufi International Group of Companies and India’s Zydus Lifesciences, in the presence of the country’s diplomatic officials in Dubai—an initiative that follows recent Taliban government efforts to attract foreign investment.

The $100 million cooperation agreement in the pharmaceutical sector between Afghanistan’s Rufi International Group and India’s Zydus Lifesciences was signed at the Afghan Consulate in Dubai, with the participation of the Taliban government’s ambassador to the UAE, the Consul General, and the country’s trade attaché.

Zydus Lifesciences is one of India’s largest publicly listed pharmaceutical companies.

According to this agreement, the company will first export its medical products to Afghanistan and later, by transferring its representation to Kabul, begin producing medicine inside the country.

8This cooperation is the result of the recent visit of Nooruddin Azizi, the Taliban government’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, to India.
