Afghan National Security Council (NSC) announced that 68 civilians were killed or wounded in the past week as a result of Taliban activities.
“In the past week, 23 civilians were killed by Taliban and 45 more were wounded,” NSC said in a statement on Saturday.
According to the statement, the civilians were killed or wounded during the past week in 16 provinces.
“The Afghan government has always stressed on ceasing violence, but the Taliban ignore the will of all sides, including the people of Afghanistan. They continue killing innocent people,” the statement added.
However, the Afghan government announced last week that it will not release Taliban’s perilous prisoners and that they have offered a new list.
