UN Warns of Escalating Water Crisis in Drought-Hit Afghanistan
DID Press: UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned that prolonged drought in Afghanistan is pushing the country toward a severe water crisis.

OCHA highlighted that dwindling water resources threaten the lives and health of millions, especially women and children, and increase the risk of waterborne diseases.
Humanitarian organizations, supported by Afghanistan’s humanitarian fund, are distributing drinking water and providing sanitation services, but OCHA cautioned that continued drought and reduced aid could worsen the country’s humanitarian situation.
