Heavy Rainfall Raises Flood Risk in Southwestern Afghanistan
DID Press: According to meteorological forecasts, parts of Farah, Nimroz, and Helmand provinces are expected to receive heavy rainfall of up to 50 millimeters on Monday, raising the risk of severe flooding in these areas.

Significant precipitation is also predicted in Kandahar and Zabul provinces, where the likelihood of flash floods remains high.
The Taliban government’s Meteorology Department said that mountainous areas in Farah, Nimroz, and Helmand could see rainfall up to 50 millimeters today. Such levels of precipitation, if realized as rain, could trigger severe flooding in these provinces.
Kandahar and Zabul are expected to experience daily rainfall of up to 40 millimeters, with authorities assessing a high flood risk.
In other provinces, precipitation is forecast to fall mainly as snow from Monday through Thursday, with the likelihood of flooding reported as low.
