DID Press: Kurk Dorsey, an international affairs expert and University of New Hampshire professor, described Major General Qassem Soleimani as a stabilizing figure in the fight against ISIS. Criticizing the “chaotic” policies of the Trump administration, Dorsey said Soleimani’s assassination was a high-risk move, but regional instability cannot be attributed solely to that event, given the concurrent crises in Gaza, Syria, and Yemen.

Dorsey also called attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities “incomprehensible,” noting that the Trump administration initially sought to distance itself from Israeli operations but later became complicit.
