DID Press: Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the U.S. military assault on Venezuela, calling it a blatant violation of the South American nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In an official statement, Tehran described the U.S. action as a breach of fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and basic rules of international law, specifically citing Article 2, Paragraph 4, which prohibits the use of force. The ministry called the attack a clear act of aggression.
Iran emphasized that such acts should be condemned by the UN and by all states concerned with law, peace, and international security. It warned that the U.S. military intervention against an independent UN member state represents a serious threat to regional and global stability and could further undermine the international system based on the UN Charter.
The statement praised Venezuela’s efforts to preserve its sovereignty and underscored the legal and moral responsibility of all governments and international organizations to hold the U.S. accountable for the military aggression. Tehran called for appropriate measures to ensure justice for those responsible for the violations committed during the attack.
