German President: Washington’s Policies Are Pushing World Toward “Law of Jungle”

DID Press: Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of Germany, in an unusually sharp criticism of U.S. foreign policy during Donald Trump’s presidency, stated that Washington’s approaches are driving the international order toward the “law of the jungle.”

Referring to actions such as attempts to abduct Nicolás Maduro, the president of Venezuela, Steinmeier warned that democracy at the global level is facing an unprecedented threat.
He stressed that the international community must not allow the world to turn into a “safe haven for bandits.”
