DID Press: Afghanistan Football Federation announced the appointment of Hossain Afshar, an experienced domestic futsal coach, as head coach of the national under-20 futsal team.
Afshar, who has been active in Afghan futsal for many years, brings extensive experience from both club management and roles within the national team’s technical staff. He previously served as assistant coach during the CAFA Futsal Championship 2023 and the AFC Futsal Championship qualifiers 2024.
At the club level, Afshar has coached teams including Saadat Nimroz, Zahir Asad Kabul, Asr-e Jadid Ghazni, and Noorzad Nimroz in Afghanistan’s domestic futsal league.
The Afghanistan Football Federation expressed optimism that, under Afshar’s leadership, the U-20 team will deliver stronger performances in upcoming international competitions.
