Washington Stabbing Attack Leaves 4 Dead; Suspect Killed by Police

DID Press: A deadly stabbing incident in Washington claimed four lives on Tuesday morning, authorities said. The 32-year-old suspect was shot and killed by a police officer at the scene.

The attack occurred in the Key Peninsula area, northwest of Tacoma. Officers from Pierce County Sheriff’s Office responded around 8:41 a.m. local time after receiving a report alleging the suspect had violated a contact restriction order. Investigation revealed the order had not been officially served, meaning it was not legally enforceable at the time.

While officers were en route to serve the order, the suspect allegedly attacked multiple people with a bladed weapon outside a residence at the end of a cul-de-sac. Three victims died on site, and a fourth succumbed to injuries after being transported to a hospital.

The suspect was killed by sheriff deputy at the scene. A special investigative team from Pierce County is examining both the stabbing and the police shooting.

Court documents indicate the residence belonged to a woman who had requested a one-year protective order against her son. She alleged that he had subjected her to psychological abuse, damaged property, and harmed her pet. Reports also indicate the suspect struggled with mental health issues and drug use.

Authorities have not released the identities of the victims or the suspect.
