DID Press: According to Fars News Agency, citing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Iranian forces have taken full control of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints, with a significant share of the region’s oil exports passing through it daily. More than one-third of globally traded seaborne oil transits this narrow waterway, making any shift in its security status highly consequential for global energy markets, oil prices, and maritime shipping routes.
The announcement follows a series of reports indicating heightened Iranian military readiness and increased security activity in the Persian Gulf. In recent days, the suspension or limitation of services at several U.S. embassies in the region, along with the cancellation of thousands of flights at major Gulf airports, have signaled rising security sensitivities surrounding the waterway.
Analysts suggest that full control of the Strait could significantly alter regional geopolitical dynamics and have immediate repercussions for global energy stability.
