Resumption of Passport Issuance and Distribution at Afghan Consulate in Bonn

DID Press: Afghanistan Consulate in city of Bonn, Germany, announced that after a long hiatus, the process of issuing and distributing passports for Afghan citizens residing in Germany has resumed. According to officials at this representation, currently about four thousand passports are in the printing stage and are expected to be ready soon and gradually provided to applicants.

In recent years, the process of issuing passports for Afghans living abroad has faced delays and serious problems. Following political developments in Afghanistan, many diplomatic missions encountered challenges in providing consular services, including passport issuance; a matter that caused thousands of Afghans in various countries to face difficulties in renewing or obtaining a new passport.

The reactivation of this process at the Bonn Consulate could meet some of the needs of Afghans residing in Germany, as having a valid passport is fundamentally important for residency matters, travel, and handling administrative issues in this country.
