Pakistan Expresses Concern Over Canada-India Deal on Uranium Supply

DID Press: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan announced that Islamabad is closely monitoring with concern the long-term uranium supply agreement between Canada and India and the potential cooperation between the two countries in advanced nuclear technologies.

Tahir Andarabi, spokesperson for the ministry, stated in a press release that Pakistan is “concerned” about the long-term uranium supply agreement between Canada and India and the potential cooperation of the two sides in small modular reactors (SMR) and advanced reactor technologies.

The statement says that such collaborations could have implications for strategic stability in the region, and it is necessary to carefully examine developments related to civilian nuclear cooperation.
