Kabul–Ashgabat Stress Expansion of Transit and Trade Cooperation
DID Press: Turkmenistan and Afghanistan have emphasized strengthening trade relations and transit cooperation, particularly in the transportation of petroleum products.

According to a statement from the Herat provincial office, Batur Yolov, Turkmenistan’s consul general in Herat, met with the province’s governor Maulana Islam Jar to discuss expanding commercial cooperation and facilitating cross-border transit.
During the meeting, Islam Jar welcomed the development of trade and transit through Turkmenistan’s borders, stating that the Taliban administration seeks to deepen cooperation with Turkmenistan and help transform Afghanistan into a key regional transit hub.
Yolov also expressed support for joint efforts to expand imports and exports between the two countries and assured local authorities in Herat of Turkmenistan’s continued cooperation in strengthening economic ties.
