China Seeks to Boost Trade and Investment in Afghanistan

DID Press: Taliban’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced that Nuruddin Azizi met with China’s special representative Yoshiao Yong to discuss expanding trade relations and investment opportunities.

Azizi highlighted that Afghanistan offers a secure environment for investment and invited Chinese investors to engage in various economic sectors. He emphasized boosting Afghan exports to China and called for improved customs, transit, and transportation facilities between the two countries.

Key export products discussed included cotton, pomegranates, pine nuts, gemstones, and other semi-precious items.

Yong conveyed the interest of Chinese traders and investors in Afghanistan, describing the country as a promising and largely untapped market in China’s broader economic strategy.
