Analyst Warns of Expanding Iran Conflict, Calls for Clear “End Point”

DID Press: Amid growing concerns over the widening regional conflict involving Iran, a prominent political analyst has warned about the risks of continued escalation and stressed the need for a defined strategy to end the war.

David Ignatius said the current situation, following heightened tensions involving Iran, has reached a stage where no external party appears capable of effectively managing the crisis.

He argued that Donald Trump, as President of the United States, must take decisive action to bring the conflict to a close. According to Ignatius, a war launched in haste now requires a clear and achievable “end point.”

The analyst suggested that setting limited objectives—such as reopening the Strait of Hormuz and reducing tensions by halting attacks on Iran—could form part of a practical solution.

These remarks come as the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical energy transit routes, where any disruption could carry significant consequences for global economic stability.
