73 Acres of Opium Poppy Fields Destroyed in Nimroz’s Afghanistan
DID Press: Local authorities in Nimroz province report the destruction of dozens of opium poppy fields in Chahar Burjak district as part of ongoing anti-narcotics efforts.

Officials said that 73 acres of opium cultivation were eradicated in a campaign led by the district’s Anti-Narcotics Department, which targeted six separate plots across the district.
Mawlawi Mahmood “Saeed,” the district governor, confirmed that the operation was carried out under orders from the Taliban leadership and covered areas including Tirkoh, Haji Saleem, Haji Safar, Mullahalim, Khalmak, and Bazmashi.
He added that security forces involved in the campaign aimed to completely eliminate illegal crops and prevent further narcotics production activities.
According to the governor, the opium eradication campaign will continue in Chahar Burjak, with plans to expand similar operations to other parts of Nimroz.
