DID Press: Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, stressed that United States cannot claim to uphold a ceasefire while supporting actions that prolong hostilities.

Araghchi, in a message posted on X, stated that the terms of the ceasefire between Tehran and Washington are clear, and the U.S. must now decide whether to honor the agreement or continue escalating tensions.
He emphasized: “America cannot simultaneously claim a ceasefire and support actions, reportedly through Israel, that perpetuate the conflict.” Araghchi added that respecting ethical boundaries and adhering to agreements are essential for maintaining peace and stability in the region.
The minister also criticized what he described as “killings” in Lebanon, asserting that Washington must demonstrate whether it will fulfill its commitments.
These remarks come amid ongoing reports of missile launches and regional clashes, with some Iranian sources indicating that vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has again been halted in response to Israeli actions in Lebanon and violations of the ceasefire agreement.
