Iran’s Ambassador in Kabul Visits Dogharoun Border, Urges Faster Cargo Transit
DID Press: Iran’s ambassador in Kabul, Alireza Bikdeli, led a delegation of Iranian officials on an inspection visit to the Dogharoun–Islam Qala border crossing, according to local media reports.

During the visit, the delegation reviewed ongoing projects aimed at establishing new transit lanes, improving crossing routes, and removing bottlenecks to accelerate the movement of freight vehicles at the border point.
Bikdeli said the initiatives could help strengthen economic ties between Afghanistan and Iran and facilitate smoother cross-border trade flows.
According to a statement from the Iranian Embassy in Kabul, he also met Afghan and Iranian truck drivers to discuss transportation and transit challenges. Drivers reportedly raised concerns over delays, administrative hurdles, and the need for improved facilitation measures.
The visit is described as part of broader efforts to enhance economic cooperation and improve bilateral border trade management.
