Mass Funeral Held for Victims of Armed Attack in Injil, Herat

DID Press: A large funeral ceremony was held on Tuesday morning for victims of a recent armed attack in the Deh Mir area of Injil district in Herat, with significant public attendance at the Sadeqia Grand Mosque.

The attack, carried out last Friday by unidentified gunmen, targeted a group of Shia civilians and left 11 people dead, according to official figures. Local authorities have announced the arrest of one individual in connection with the incident, but the main perpetrators have not yet been identified, and questions remain over the motive and nature of the attack.

Following the ceremony, the bodies were scheduled to be transferred to Ziyarat Sultan Agha for burial.
