Four Iran-Linked Ships Transit Strait of Hormuz on First Day of Reported US Naval Blockade

DID Press: Maritime tracking data indicates that four vessels linked to Iran have transited the Strait of Hormuz following the reported start of a US naval blockade in the strategic waterway.

According to MarineTraffic data, two of the ships had previously called at Iranian ports. The bulk carrier Christina reportedly sailed from Bandar Imam Khomeini after docking and passed through the strait on Monday.

The sanctioned vessel Rich Starry, listed under U.S. restrictions, is reported to have departed Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates at night and transited eastward through the strait.

Another sanctioned tanker, Morlikishan, reportedly moved from Lianyungang, China, and entered regional waters via the strait, with its last known position recorded near Qeshm Island.

A fourth vessel, Elpis, also reportedly departed from Bushehr and crossed eastward through the strait. Its final destination remains unknown, and it is also listed under U.S. sanctions.
