Turkey Seeks to Expand Economic Projects in Afghanistan

DID Press: Türkiye’s ambassador in Kabul said that Ankara plans to expand its economic projects and investment footprint in Afghanistan, during talks with officials in western Afghanistan.

Sadın Yıldız met with Sheikh Noor Ahmad Islamjar in Herat Province, according to a statement from the provincial media office.

The two sides discussed expanding economic cooperation between Türkiye and Afghanistan, with a focus on investment opportunities and development projects.

Yıldız stressed that Türkiye is working to broaden its economic initiatives in Afghanistan and create wider avenues for cooperation across multiple sectors.

The Herat governor, meanwhile, invited Turkish investors to participate in electricity generation, mining, and other key economic sectors, urging a more active role in the province’s development.

Herat, a major economic hub in Afghanistan, continues to attract interest from both domestic and foreign investors due to its strategic location and commercial potential.
