Turkey Announces Visa Facilitation for Afghan Patients and Businesspeople

DID Press: Türkiye announced plans to ease visa procedures for Afghan patients and businesspeople, according to remarks by its ambassador in Kabul during a meeting with Taliban officials in western Afghanistan.

Sadin Yildiz met with Noor Ahmad Islamjar in Herat Province, where he said Ankara will streamline visa issuance for Afghan citizens, particularly those seeking medical treatment and conducting commercial activities.

He added that the move is intended to strengthen humanitarian and economic ties between the two countries and facilitate easier cross-border travel for healthcare and trade purposes.

The Turkish envoy also highlighted Herat’s strategic economic importance, describing it as a key hub for regional cooperation and development.

According to him, Türkiye aims to expand its economic engagement with Afghanistan, including increased investment in infrastructure and development projects.

He further noted that expanding railway networks and regional transit connectivity remains a core priority in Ankara’s cooperation strategy with Kabul.
