Unstable Weather Expected Across Afghanistan, 23 Provinces on Alert
DID Press: Afghanistan’s Meteorology Department has warned of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, strong winds, and sudden flash floods across 23 provinces of the country.

The department said on Saturday, April 18, that weather conditions across large parts of Afghanistan will remain unstable, with heavy precipitation expected in multiple regions.
According to the announcement, the affected provinces include Kabul, Badakhshan, Takhar, Nuristan, Panjshir, Baghlan, Parwan, Kapisa, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Logar, Paktia, Khost, Paktika, Ghazni, Zabul, Maidan Wardak, Bamyan, Samangan, Sar-e-Pul, Ghor, and Daykundi.
Authorities said rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and relatively strong winds is expected, which could trigger flash floods in some areas. Mountainous regions and valleys are considered to be at higher risk.
Snowfall is also forecast in high-altitude and colder areas, which may lead to travel disruptions on certain routes.
Officials have urged residents, particularly those living in vulnerable areas, to avoid riverbanks, flood-prone zones, and hazardous locations, and to take necessary precautionary measures.
