Telegraph: Iran–US War Disrupts World Cup Alcohol Market

DID Press: British newspaper The Daily Telegraph has reported that escalating tensions and recent clashes between United States and Iran are producing wide-ranging economic consequences, including disruptions to the alcohol supply market ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

According to the report, rising tensions have driven up gasoline and fuel prices, indirectly affecting supply chains for various goods, including alcoholic beverages. The increase in transportation and logistics costs has reportedly contributed to shortages of these products in parts of the U.S. market, raising concerns as the tournament period approaches.

The report further notes that the U.S. tourism and hospitality sectors are also experiencing negative effects. Hotel operators are said to be facing losses amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars due to declining travel demand.

Experts cited in the report attribute the drop in consumer demand primarily to uncertainty linked to the conflict and the rising cost of travel.
