Kabul and Dushanbe Stress Acceleration of CASA-1000 Project

DID Press: Officials from Kabul and Dushanbe reaffirmed their commitment to speeding up implementation of the regional CASA-1000 power project during a recent meeting in Dushanbe.

During the talks, Abdul Haq Hamkar, head of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, called for resolving outstanding challenges facing contracting companies and enhancing technical coordination to accelerate project progress. He also expressed appreciation for Tajikistan’s continued cooperation.

In response, Daler Juma described the CASA-1000 initiative as a key step toward regional connectivity and stronger economic cooperation among participating countries, reaffirming his country’s support for expediting its implementation.

The CASA-1000 project is considered one of the most significant regional energy initiatives, designed to transmit electricity from Central Asia to South Asia, playing a vital role in economic development and energy supply across the region.
