DID Press: A new report by NBC News claims that Iran’s retaliatory attacks have caused “far more extensive damage than previously acknowledged” to US military bases and equipment across the Middle East, with reconstruction costs expected to reach billions of dollars.

According to the report published on Saturday, Iran allegedly struck dozens of targets across seven countries in the region. These included military depots, command centers, aircraft hangars, satellite communications infrastructure, runways, advanced radar systems, and multiple military aircraft.
The report further claims that Iran used missiles, drones, and even F-5 fighter jets in the operations—contradicting earlier U.S. statements that Iranian air force aircraft had not been used in strikes against American targets.
The United States Department of War has not released detailed damage assessments, while U.S. Central Command has declined to comment on its internal evaluation of the situation.
Meanwhile, some Republican lawmakers have reportedly expressed frustration over the lack of transparency from senior Pentagon officials regarding the scale of the damage and the projected repair costs.
The report also warns that the extent of destruction and reconstruction expenses could reignite debates in Washington over the long-term presence of U.S. military bases near countries such as Iran.
