Germany to Resume Visa Issuance for Afghan Applicants in Pakistan from June 2026

DID Press: Germany announced that it will resume issuing work and student visas for Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan starting 1 June 2026, according to its embassy in Islamabad.

The German embassy said the renewed process will cover applicants seeking employment in German companies and institutions, as well as those pursuing higher education at universities and academic centers in Germany.

A spokesperson for the embassy, Ina Lippel, said the move is intended to provide new opportunities for Afghan applicants to develop their academic and professional skills in Germany.

Officials stated that the decision is aimed at strengthening academic and cultural exchange while also facilitating access for skilled workers.

Applicants will be able to submit requests and obtain further information through the German embassy in Pakistan as the process becomes active.
