The Islamic Brotherhood Council commemorated the 29th death anniversary of Imam Khomeini, the leader and founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Monday 4 May.
The speakers admired the role of Imam Khomeini in the awakening Islamic world and the fight against global arrogance at the commemoration ceremony. They also reminded his role in the Islamic struggle of the people of Afghanistan against the invasion of the Red Army.
The conference mentioned Imam Khomeini’s emphasis on the unity of Islamic Ummah and the solidarity of Islamic world against the bullying and conspiracies of the west, saying that Imam Khomeini spent his life in this struggle.
The speakers of the conference considered the effect of his thought great in the Islamic society and the revolution of the people of Afghanistan, emphasizing that Imam Khomeini’s thought should be taught to the new generation in order to understand the western conspiracies well.
In 1357 (solar year), Imam Khomeini won the revolution of Islamic Republic of Iran after several years of struggle, and replaced the kingdom rule with the Islamic Republic system.
The significance and position of Imam Khomeini are further derived from his thoughts on the unity of the Islamic Ummah, resistance against the East and the West and the independence of the Islamic countries.
He passed away on 14 Jawza 1368 (solar year) in Tehran.
