Italy Vows Ongoing Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan
DID Press: Italy reiterated its continued humanitarian and development support for Afghanistan during a meeting of the Afghanistan Coordination Group in Istanbul, with a focus on women’s empowerment, education, healthcare, and demining efforts.

Italian Ambassador Sabrina Ugolini said that Italy remains committed to addressing the basic needs and livelihoods of the Afghan population.
She noted that Italy’s foreign policy priorities include expanding opportunities for women, improving access to education, supporting migrants, strengthening healthcare services, and advancing mine-clearance programs.
Ugolini also highlighted the importance of cultural cooperation, stating that protecting Afghanistan’s cultural heritage could contribute to job creation and broader economic development.
Italian officials emphasized that their engagement in Afghanistan is firmly based on humanitarian principles and that sustained assistance to the Afghan people will continue.
