Afghanistan, Russia Explore Joint Investment in Pharmaceutical Sector
DID Press: A delegation from Taliban’s Ministry of Public Health has held talks in Moscow focused on expanding pharmaceutical cooperation and exploring joint investment opportunities with Russian partners.

The delegation, led by Hamdullah Zahid, met with Afghanistan’s ambassador to Russia and executives of a major Russian pharmaceutical company during an official visit to the Russian capital.
According to officials, the visit aims to assess the production capacity of Russian drug manufacturers, study advanced pharmaceutical quality-control systems, and facilitate the import of affordable, high-quality medicines into Afghanistan.
Representatives of the Russian pharmaceutical company briefed the Afghan delegation on their manufacturing capabilities, stating that the company produces a wide range of medicines in line with international standards and operates standardized systems for quality control, packaging, and exports.
The company also shared information about its export markets and commercial partnerships with various countries.
During the discussions, both sides explored ways to facilitate pharmaceutical exports, reduce transportation costs, simplify customs procedures, and examine prospects for joint investment in medicine production inside Afghanistan.
