Pakistan Welcomes Tribal Peace Agreements in Bajaur and Kunar

DID Press: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has welcomed two recent agreements between tribal elders from Afghanistan and Pakistan aimed at establishing a ceasefire and reopening cross-border routes.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andarabi said in a weekly press briefing that the recent understanding between elders from Bajaur and Kunar reflects the shared desire of people on both sides of the border for peace and stability.

He also referred to an earlier agreement between tribal leaders in Chitral and Nuristan, which included a ceasefire arrangement and the reopening of border passages, calling it another positive step toward regional calm.

Andarabi said these developments demonstrate that local communities on both sides of the border are seeking peace and normalcy despite broader political tensions.
