DID Press: Pakistan’s military chief has issued a sharp warning to India, saying any future “provocation” will be met with a “decisive and deadly response,” during a ceremony marking the first anniversary of a four-day conflict between the two countries in 2025.

Field Marshal Asim Munir made the remarks at a military event in Rawalpindi, claiming that the Pakistani armed forces and nation “have never been intimidated by enemy power and never will be.”
He referred to last year’s clashes — described in Pakistan as “Operation Haq” — and said more than 26 Indian military targets were destroyed, forcing Indian forces to retreat and “raise the white flag,” according to his account.
Munir emphasized that future wars would be “multi-dimensional,” involving both conventional and non-conventional threats, and stressed the need for full defensive preparedness even in times of peace.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach, pointing to defense cooperation with Saudi Arabia and its role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States, describing these as signs of Islamabad’s growing strategic influence.
In a separate remark, he urged action against militant sanctuaries in Afghanistan, saying Pakistan’s counterterrorism operations would continue “until the last terrorist element is eliminated.”
He concluded by stating that “truth will prevail over falsehood” and reaffirmed Pakistan’s position as a “resilient and invincible state.”
