DID Press: A report published by The Wall Street Journal has claimed that the United Arab Emirates carried out limited covert operations against targets inside Iran prior to the latest regional military escalation.
According to the report, citing informed sources, the alleged operations targeted infrastructure linked to Iran’s energy sector, including a reported strike on a refinery located on Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf.
The sources cited by the newspaper claimed the operations were conducted within the framework of undisclosed regional security cooperation and aimed at weakening Iran’s operational and energy capabilities before any overt Iranian military response.
