Prince Harry and Meghan Developing Afghanistan War Film for Netflix

DID Press: Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are producing a new war film for Netflix based on memoirs from the war in Afghanistan.

According to the American entertainment outlet Deadline, the film is titled No Way Out: A True and Harrowing Story of Men Under Siege. The project is based on the memoir of Major Adam Jowett, commander of “Easy Company” of the Royal Irish Rangers and paratrooper forces.

The story focuses on a British military unit deployed in July 2006 to hold a district in Helmand Province, where they came under intense attacks from the Taliban. The film is expected to portray the siege and combat faced by the troops in southern Afghanistan.

The subject carries personal significance for Prince Harry, who served two tours in Afghanistan. He was first deployed to Helmand in 2007 for a 10-week mission as a forward air controller supporting operations against Taliban fighters. The deployment ended early after his presence was leaked online.

Following his return to United Kingdom, British media dubbed him the “Warrior Prince,” and he later received a military promotion.

Harry subsequently completed Apache helicopter training in Britain and the United States before returning to Afghanistan in 2012 for a 20-week deployment as an Apache co-pilot and gunner.

After stepping back from official royal duties, Harry and Meghan launched their production company Archewell Productions and signed a first-look agreement with Netflix last year for future media projects.
