Afghanistan Summons Tourism Firms Over Illegal Work Visa Sales

DID Press: Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs says it has summoned several tourism and pilgrimage companies over allegations of involvement in the illegal issuance and sale of foreign work visas, including for Turkey.

According to the ministry, a number of companies were called in following increasing complaints and reports of unauthorized activities related to the promotion and sale of work visas for Turkey and other countries.

Officials said some firms were advertising work visas through unofficial channels and collecting large sums of money from applicants, despite having no legal mandate to provide such services.

During meetings with company representatives, authorities warned of legal consequences and obtained written commitments from them to cease charging fees for visa facilitation or similar services.

The ministry emphasized that overseas labor recruitment must only be conducted through official, regulated channels and that tourism or pilgrimage companies are not permitted to operate in employment placement or recruitment without proper authorization.
