8 Muslim Countries Condemn Violations at Al-Aqsa Mosque

DID Press: Pakistan, along with seven other Muslim-majority countries, has issued a joint statement strongly condemning recent actions by Israeli settlers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem and calling for an immediate halt to escalating tensions in the city.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, foreign ministers from Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates joined Pakistan in condemning what they described as incursions by extremist Israeli settlers into the Al-Aqsa compound, reportedly under the protection of Israeli security forces.

The statement said the actions, including the raising of the Israeli flag within the mosque compound, constitute a clear violation of international law, UN resolutions, and the historical and legal status of holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem.

The countries reaffirmed the historic role of the Hashemite Custodianship of holy sites in Jerusalem and emphasized that the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex is exclusively a place of worship for Muslims, administered by the Jerusalem Waqf.

The statement held Israeli authorities responsible for stopping such actions and warned that continued provocations could escalate tensions and undermine regional stability and peace efforts.

The ministers also reiterated their support for the Palestinian people and called for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders under the two-state solution framework.
