Herat Governor Briefs Taliban Deputy PM on Province’s Situation

DID Press: Nooruddin Islamjar briefed Abdul Salam Hanafi on the overall situation in Herat, including public services, citizens’ concerns, and support for returning migrants, according to a statement issued by the provincial administration.

The Herat governor reportedly outlined efforts by local authorities to improve public services and facilitate assistance for returning Afghan migrants, emphasizing continued coordination among relevant institutions.

According to the statement, Abdul Salam Hanafi praised the performance of local officials and described public service delivery and support for returnees as key priorities for government institutions. He also stressed the importance of continued cooperation to improve services.

The meeting comes in the aftermath of widespread protests in Herat that reportedly escalated into violence, drawing increased attention to the province’s security and social conditions.
