Herat Governor Calls for Expanded Trade Through Khaf–Herat Railway
DID Press: Herat Governor Mawlawi Noor Ahmad Islamjar has called for increased commercial transportation through the Khaf–Herat railway corridor during a meeting with Mostafa Rezaei.

During the meeting, Islamjar described the Khaf–Herat Railway as one of the most important transit and trade routes linking Afghanistan and Iran. He also announced that the Rabat Paryan railway station is expected to become operational in the near future.
The governor urged the Iranian railway consortium to increase cargo volumes along the route, emphasizing that the local administration in Herat is prepared to provide full support for the expansion and strengthening of the railway corridor.
For his part, Rezaei expressed appreciation for the cooperation of Herat authorities and pledged to raise freight capacity on the Khaf–Herat railway to 150,000 tons per month in the coming months.
He also said the railway would help accelerate the transportation and export of Afghan products and goods to international markets, improving efficiency and facilitating regional trade.
The railway is regarded as a key component of efforts to expand economic connectivity and trade between Afghanistan, Iran, and broader regional markets.
