120,000 Jobs Open for Afghan Workers in Region
DID Press: Afghanistan Workers’ Union says efforts are underway to send skilled Afghan workers to Iran, Turkey, and Qatar, with the three countries seeking to recruit more than 120,000 Afghan workers.

According to the union, negotiations are continuing as regional demand for skilled labor increases. Iran accounts for the largest share of the demand, seeking nearly 100,000 skilled workers.
Turkey has requested more than 20,000 skilled Afghan workers, while Qatar has sought approximately 3,000, according to union officials.
The head of the Afghanistan Workers’ Union said destination countries are primarily looking for workers with technical skills and recognized professional qualifications.
To meet that demand, the union said vocational training and skills development programs are being expanded inside Afghanistan to improve workers’ qualifications and increase their access to employment opportunities in regional labor markets.
