DID Press: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the importance of diplomacy and restraint in reducing regional tensions following a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Sharif said the two leaders discussed recent regional developments and ways to maintain stability and calm. He stressed the need for continued dialogue, self-restraint, and the use of diplomatic channels to preserve recent peace efforts.
The Pakistani prime minister also highlighted Islamabad’s role in easing regional tensions, saying Pakistan is ready to continue acting as an “honest mediator” in support of lasting peace.
Sharif further announced that Pakistan and Iran have agreed to follow up on and implement bilateral cooperation plans, including agreements reached during Pezeshkian’s recent visit to Islamabad, with the aim of expanding political, economic, and regional relations between the two countries.
