Herat Municipality Unveils 80 Development Projects for 2026

DID Press: Herat Municipality has announced that 80 major development projects worth more than 1 billion Afghanis have been included in its 2026 work plan, aiming to expand urban infrastructure and improve public services.

According to the municipality, the projects will cover various sectors, including urban infrastructure development, road improvements, construction and rehabilitation of water channels, expansion of green spaces, upgrading municipal services, and implementation of other public works projects.

Taliban-appointed officials at Herat Municipality said the projects are intended to improve service delivery, promote balanced urban development, increase public welfare, and strengthen the province’s infrastructure.

The municipality added that implementation of the projects will begin during 2026 according to a scheduled plan and will be funded through the allocated urban development budget.
